A beautiful crochet blanket is always a great project to make. And a gorgeous design as the one you see on the photo below is a must start project. Blanket size and yarn
«Lotus» is a crochet blanket in the shape of a square measuring 120 x 120 cm (47 x 47 inches).
Veronica recommends fine weight yarn «YarnArt Jeans» (55% cotton, 45% acrylic, 160 m/50 grams) and a 3.5 mm hook.
You will need 1 kg of «YarnArt Jeans» of 4 colors:
— Color A (blue or green) — 8 skeins (400 grams)
— Color B (pink) — 4 skeins (200 grams)
— Color C (mint) — 4 skeins (200 grams)
— Color D (white) — 4 skeins (200 grams)
If you need a bigger planket, the size can be increased by using thicker yarn and a larger hook. You will find a couple of options in Veronica's blog. For example, one of the testers used Red Heart Super Saver yarn (168 m in 100 grams) and a 6 mm hook. As a result the size of the finished work is 180 cm by 180 cm.
On the project page on Veronica's blog you can also find several alternative color schemes. You can also check project page on Ravelry where you can find other color selections by other crocheters. And of course, you can always create your own color palette and make a blanket the way you want.
